Hit-Maker Brandon Silverstein Named CEO of Avex Music Group After Publishing Success

Music executive Brandon Silverstein, whose publishing division has delivered multiple #1 radio and streaming hits, has been appointed CEO of Avex Music Group, as announced on March 25, 2025.

The appointment follows Japanese entertainment giant Avex’s full acquisition of S10 Music Publishing, a company Silverstein formed as a joint venture with Avex in 2020. The deal also includes an increased stake in S10 Management, giving Avex the largest share alongside Silverstein and Roc Nation.

S10 Publishing’s recent success speaks volumes about Silverstein’s hit-making ability. The division dominated Mediabase’s 2024 year-end Top 40 radio chart with three songs in the top 20: Tate McRae’s “Greedy” at #1, Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills” at #5, and Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby” at #16. Each track also reached #1 on Spotify’s Global Chart.

The publishing catalog includes #1 Billboard hits from Justin Bieber, Jack Harlow, and Post Malone, along with songs by Rihanna and Bad Bunny. Overall, S10 has generated 22 global #1 hits and amassed 50 billion streams worldwide.

As CEO of Avex Music Group, Silverstein will oversee all company operations while continuing to lead S10 Management and independently owning S10 Records. His priorities include building Avex’s music publishing portfolio, promoting Japanese artists globally, forming joint ventures, and expanding into music catalog deals.

“I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and look forward to this next chapter with Avex,” said Silverstein, who has been recognized in Billboard’s “Power 100” and Forbes’ “30 Under 30.”

Avex CEO Katsumi Kuroiwa emphasized the importance of the partnership: “Together, we will create new opportunities for creatives, introduce Japanese talent to a wider global audience, and push boundaries to redefine what it means to be a global powerhouse in music and entertainment.”
