An International Background Sets the Stage for Success
Mo grew up in Syria and moved to the U.S. as a teenager. Her parents were so proud of their daughter’s accomplishments that they moved to the U.S., eventually settling in Boston, Massachusetts—a city with a thriving tech community and an energetic, multicultural atmosphere.
At first, Mo found the rapid pace of life in Boston overwhelming. She was worried about fitting in, but joining teams like the school newspaper and theater club helped her feel at home.
A Passion for Theater Leads to a Tech Career
During high school and college, Mo developed a passion for theater. During her junior year of college, she founded an Arabic theater troupe called Diwan with a few friends. It was 1998, and most Syrians had only recently immigrated to the U.S.
